OK - I finally got around to watching my recordings of America's Next Top Model, Cycle 10. Here are my thoughts on the first couple of episodes.
Week 1 - Homeless
Something happened and my comments on this episode disappeared - here are the bare bones.
Live event - a surprise runway show in Times Square.
Photo Shoot - a shoot with several girls from a NYC homeless support agency acting as extras.
Eliminated - Atalya
Quit - Kimberly
Week 2 - Top Model Makeovers
This is the week that all the girls get a new look - one that could potentially carry them into a new life.
Live event - casting/makeup challenge at WalMart. The girls have 5 minutes to make themselves up with Cover Girl products. Claire won the challenge, and was rewarded with a photo on the WalMart.com alleged Covergirl page. There doesn't seem to actually be any such page, but Claire must be on it. Wherever it is.
Then on to the makeovers.
Anya - platinum blond
Whitney - blonder and with a weave
Aimee - a weave, bangs and a red wash
Marvita - a horse-mane weave
Lauren - long blond weave with reddish highlights
Katarzyna - dark luxurious hair
Claire - pale blond and extremely short
Fatima - dark brown, weave, and straightening ... and this season's winner as most annoying reaction to a makeover
Allison - medium brown with a weave to fill it out
Dominique - short and sassy
Stacy-Ann - spikey and wild
Amis - A long blond weave
Photo Shoot - a nyc river ferry with Elle McPherson's lingerie line. How overwhelmingly intimidating!
Claire is becoming one of my favorites, especially with the makeover. I also like Whitney, and I still hope Lauren grows into her looks.
Allison is probably my least favorite of the girls - she is arrogant, but without the goods to back it up.
Eliminated - Allison ... and good riddance. Blech.
